5 Of The Most Common Controversial Topics
We Are Web

Everyday, somewhere in the world there is a conversation about one of these five topics. Whether you are driving with your friends and suddenly the topic comes up, or you are watching television with your roommates, everyone feels strongly about one or the other. Whichever way you choose to go, you defend it to the ends of the Earth. On campus, these are some of our more controversial topics daily.

1. Sheetz or Wawa

Coming from a school that is predominantly brings in tri-state students, this is an important debate. Sheetz may be known for their fried food goodness, but Wawa has sandwiches to make your mouth water.

2. Clicker or Remote

Do you really want to be reminded of your classes while you're sitting down watching TV? Back in the day, you called it a clicker because you never knew about iClicker. However, now your roommate asks you for a remote. What is that?

3. Android or Apple

Android phones definitely are not crashing from this iOS10 update like everyone's current iPhones. But Android doesn't have Find My Friends so how are you supposed to know what frats everyone is at? You either love Apple or love PC. PC lovers stick to their Androids, and Apple lovers stick to their iPhones.

4. Skippy of Jif

This is more of a family based question. Whatever your parents eat, you probably eat too. So most likely, whichever you choose it is not your fault. However, whichever you choose you're going to be made fun of equally.

5. Pepsi or Coke

We are a Pepsi school, but that does not stop people from taking a trip to the store for Coca-Cola. Most people have a preference of their soda. However, when planning for a pregame and deciding to pay the extra money on brand name products, Pepsi vs. Coke is the biggest debate of the night.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
