I'm that girl that says "hi" to at least five people on the way to class. I'm also that girl who, when I come home for the weekend, goes to dinner with my parents and sees a handful of friends from high school. Being the person who knows someone everywhere I go is definitely a blessing. Here are some perks of being "that girl:"

1. You never have to suffer through an hour-and-a-half lecture alone.

*that feeling halfway through the semester when you and your friend both got out of bed for lecture*

Walking into a 9:30 a.m. lecture on the opposite campus leaves a lot of doubt for there being a familiar face in the room. However, when you know so many people, the odds can't help but be in your favor!

2. Anytime you come home for the weekend, you have plans every day and evening.

The only thing that makes weekends home even better is when friends from other colleges are also home for the weekend. Then you can bet there's going to be some crazy, fun adventures to be had.

3. You never have to eat alone in the dining hall.

You don't get those looks from a group of friends searching for a seat when you've got a whole table of four chairs all to yourself. Now you get to give the looks. Oh, how the tables have turned.

4. Waiting until 11:30 p.m. to do homework due at midnight is no big deal.

Chances are, at least one person you know actually did the homework in a timely fashion and will wholeheartedly understand any excuse... *cough* I mean extremely believable reason you have for waiting so long to complete the assignment.

5. You have a friend you can call for every weekend occasion.

Whether it be watching Netflix until 3 a.m. or taking on the big football game, you can always find someone up for the challenge. No weekend is ever boring!

While it might drive your other friends crazy while walking through Walmart, knowing a lot of people gives rise to many cool opportunities and experiences. Don't be afraid to be the person who strikes up a conversation with someone you don't know!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
