Being a college student is tough. You're mostly broke and have to buy your own cleaning supplies, face washes, shampoo, soap etc. That's why I pinterested for a few hours to find the best all natural, cheap and definitely quality products to make. These are the five best recipes I came up with. Test them out for yourself, get rid of harsh chemicals and spending extra money.

1. Laundry Detergent

4 lbs Baking Soda (If you can’t find a big box in the detergent aisle, it’s totally fine to use four 1-lb boxes from the baking aisle)

1 box of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda (I think it only comes in one size, so that should make it easier)

1 box Borax (also, I’ve only ever seen one size)

4 bars of Zote Soap OR Fels-Naptha (or even a combination of both) (Grated)

2 small bottles or one large bottle of Purex Crystals

After you mix it all up then put it in a large air tight glass container, such as a mason jar. This is a such a cheap option rather than buying detergent from the store. This amount will last a college student at least a whole years worth of laundry.

2. Homemade Dishwasher Tablets

1 cup Borax

½ cup Epsom salt

1 cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda

⅓ to ½ cup lemon juice

8 drops lavender essential oil

Combine in a large bowl, then take an ice tray and pack the mix into the tray. Let sit for at least 4 hours and then you can take them out and they will be solid! Perfect to put in your dishwasher.

3. Aloe Green Tea Face Scrub

-1/3 C. Coconut Oil

-1/4 C. Sugar

-1 Tbs. Aloe Vera Jelly

-2 Green Tea Bags

-3-4 drops Vitamin E Oil (optional- just really good for your skin!)

-5-6 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil (optional- great for keeping acne away!)

-cut the tea bags open and add to the mixture! Keep in an air tight container and use once daily for maximum results!

4. Dryer Sheets Homemade

1/2 cup of vinegar

8 drops tea tree or other essential oil

Sealable container

Cotton cloths

Cut the cotton cloths into square pieces. You can use a cotton tshirt or cheap dish towels. Then put them in the container with the mixture. Pull one out and make sure to wring out any excess liquid. Throw into the dryer and use over and over again!

5. Homemade Lotion

1 cup pure shea butter, softened (in microwave)

1 cup pure coconut oil

75-100 drops of lavender or other essential oil

You only need a dime size of this mixture to moisturize your arms and hands. This batch will be around 20 oz. of lotion! Keep it in an air tight container when finished.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
