Now that my study abroad experience is coming to an end, it’s crazy to think of all of the places I have been able to travel to during my four months in Europe. From beaches in southern Italy to Christmas markets in Paris, I feel as if I’ve done it all. Here are five places that I need to return to at some point in my life:

1. Isle of Capri

This island might easily be my favorite place in the entire world. The water was beautiful, and if you go in September, then the weather will be perfect. I enjoyed a nice seafood pasta overlooking the waves crashing on the shore just before I took a ski lift to the pointy top. Everything was serene, and you feel as if nothing bad could ever happen on this tiny island. Don’t forget to book your tour of the Blue Grotto!

2. Paris

Ahh the city of love and romance. Besides that, there is so much to do here! From the Louvre to the Palace of Versailles, your trip will be filled with museums and tours. On another note, the food is absolutely amazing! Many restaurants have fixed prices where they offer three course dinners. Then, you can end your night with a bottle of wine overlooking the sparkling Eiffel Tower.

3. Cork

There is no place like Ireland. Everything is green, and everyone is so nice! You’ll be doing an Irish jig with a Guinness in hand in no time. Cork is a cute town with a fun nightlife. Also, the great thing about visiting Ireland is that there is so much to do there! When I traveled there, I was able to see the Cliffs of Moher and Blarney Castle easily. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to visit.

4. Amsterdam

Yes, it is true, the streets really do smell like weed. If that’s not your thing, then don’t worry, it is a really great city otherwise! People ride bikes everywhere, and I never got tired of looking at the bridges covering the canals. The Red Light District was a place like I’ve never been before, definitely make an effort to stop by. Also, I went to the Anne Frank house which was an eye-opening experience. You should for sure go, but be prepared to wait outside in the cold for at least an hour.

5. Venice

There’s no way I can live the rest of my life without going on another gondola ride through the Grand Canal. While that is the main thing everyone thinks of when they hear of Venice, there is more to do there! St. Mark’s Square is filled with little shops and the best hot chocolate on Earth. You can purchase hand painted glass or lace which are some specialties of the islands there. Personally, I think there is something cool about a city built upon water with canals as roads.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
