Christmas time. What is it to you? To answer that myself, Christmas is cozy, festive, fun and traditional. It's my favorite time of year just because of the way it feels. I love winter and rain and Christmas all together. But there are a few things needed to make those feelings the best they can be.

1. Steamy Cup o’ Hot Cocoa

My favorite hot chocolate of all time comes from Ghirardelli (it’s so CHOCOLATELY). It’s the best during the rainy season – if it actually rains that is.

2. Fuzzy Socks

Does anything more need to be said?

3. Candles

I don’t know about other people, but I have an extremely weird obsession with candles, especially during the holidays. It makes the atmosphere so much more comfortable and relaxing. Annnnnnd I just like smelling candles.

4. Santa Hat

Okay, so maybe this isn’t exactly necessary but it is really fun, festive and comfortable. What better way to sit around, maybe wrap some presents, than to be the big man himself? Just make sure you have some cookies nearby ;)

5. Warm Blanket

The best thing in the world is getting all cuddled up under a blanket next to your Christmas tree, watching a holiday movie with your fuzzy Christmas socks and Santa hat on, hot chocolate in hand, and candles as the only light around you.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…
