Christmas is right around the corner. Waking up early on christmas morning as a little kid was the best thing ever. You have so many presents, and you get the gift that you always wanted. The older that we get, the less presents we get. We don't know if it's because we don't need the stuff, or that we already have it.

1. Socks

Maybe it's just me or something, but I always lose my socks. I have no idea why or how I lose them. I put them in the washer, then I put them in the dryer then they disappear. We all think that socks are such a lame gift, but truly that is something that we need. Fuzzy socks are the best socks to have, they are really cheap at Target. Since winter is here buy some long socks, and lots of fuzzy socks.

2.Undergarments

I don't lose these things like I lose my socks, but it's always good to have extra of them. You can buy them anywhere pick your place. Target, Victoria Secret, Aerie, etc. There is always sales at those stores, and it may sound like a weird gift, but the person will appreciate it. If you don't feel comfortable buying them, just get them a gift card.

3.USB Rechargeable Battery

This is probably one of the most useful things that I have ever heard of. Being able to carry around a small pack and you can plug your usb cord to charge your phone.

4. Keurig

Let me tell you from personal experience, It is so much easier to go to Starbucks to get your coffee. However, that adds up, if you go to Starbucks twice a day you are blowing your money. It may take some time out of our day to make your own coffee with a Keurig, but at least you are saving money. Saving money is really important as a college student, because our money disappears so fast.

5.Multi Charging Station

Being able to go anywhere, and charge up to 5 devices at one time comes pretty handy. It will come in handy when you are in the library, and you have to charge your phone, and your Ipad.

6. Money

I say money, because everything is so much more expensive in a college town. I could spend 60 dollars on some groceries, but back at home I would only spend 30. Whether if we are using our money for food, or gas to drive back and forth from home. Money is always useful and needed.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
