It's winter break! We finally made it past all those sleepless nights spent cramming for finals and going over those presentations for class. We all deserve a little reward, so why not watch a few episodes (or maybe seasons) of some great shows?

1. Scandal

Lies, sex, cheating, stealing an election, and an incredibly cute president. Need I say more? Scandal really has it all! The show takes place in Washington D.C. and features a hot romance between President Fitz and Olivia Pope. Pope is also the resident "fixer" in D.C. I honestly can't even recommend this show enough! #TEAMOLITZ Forever!

2. Lost

To be honest, I still have like 11 episodes left so I don't know the ending. With that being said, I really love this show! It definitely keeps you wanting more. I mean imagine being stuck on an island with complete strangers with thousands of twists and turns occurring every day. I can't wait to finish the show.

3. Gossip Girl

Serena. Blair. Chuck. Nate. Dan. OMG! OMG! I don't know why I was so late to the game with this show because it's seriously so addicting. GG takes place in an elite private school in NYC (my love) and there might just be someone who follows their every move and blogs about it every day. I could watch this show over and over again and still not be tired of it!

4. Friends

So, you probably already know this one because really can you be in college if you don't watch Friends? I've probably watched every episode at least three times each, but every time I watch it again, I find it just as funny! If you haven't watched it, please do yourself a favor and go watch it now!

5. Jane the Virgin

I recently started watching Jane the Virgin, and I love it so much! It's so funny and ironic. Jane waited her whole life to lose her virginity in fear of disappointing God and getting pregnant, but with one medical mix up her whole life is about to change. I can already tell that this show is going to be one of my favorites.

We don't buy into these... just like how we don't buy our friends.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
