As school starts back, we have all been busy trying to get books and parking passes, but deep down inside we are all a little nervous. Nervous to start class, nervous to make new friends, and nervous about the whole semester in general. Here are five bible verse to help kick off the new school year.

1. When you get lost.

"So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41:10

We all get lost, it's inevitable. Normally our phones can get us to the right building, but once we are inside it is on us to find the right room. We will walk into the wrong room, it is bound to happy.

2. When you get frustrated.

" Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time, Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you." - 1 Peter 5:6-7

Whether it be because of traffic or you keep tripping on the side walk (shoutout to Atlanta for all the uneven sidewalks). Frustration will happy the first week of school, and probably the second week.

3. When you are running late.

"Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.” - Hebrews 12:12-13

Traffic gets backed up, trains are late, and people do not walk fast enough. You are going to be late, and it is going to be OK. Type A personalities want to cry when they are late, and type B accept it and take their time. Find a happy medium. Plan for traffic if you are commuting, walk a little faster to class, and pray the bus is on time.

4. When you are nervous.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7

It is always a little nerve wrecking on the first day, especially if this is your first day at your new school. You are trying to find your class, and then picking your unassigned assigned seat.

5. When you feel alone.

"If the Lord had not been my helper, I would soon rest in the silence of death. If I say, "My foot is slipping," Your faithful love will support me, Lord. When I am filled with cares, Your comfort brings me joy." - Psalm 94:17-19

College is hard enough already, but we are all looking for friends. Find some friends in class and you may find your life long best friend.

Good luck to every starting college this week, and those who have already started

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
