5 Best Things About Wedding Season

Every time I get on Facebook, one of the first things I see are pictures from a wedding. Either someone I know got married, someone I know went to a wedding or someone I know took pictures of a wedding.

And I love it.

Yes, many people hear about weddings and either roll their eyes or make a reoccurring gagging sound. But I, on the other hand become giddy and slightly obsessed with whomever it was who got hitched.

Since we are right in the middle of wedding season — for those of you who didn’t know that was a real thing, it is — and it is in full swing. In honor of wedding season, I want to share my favorite things about all of the weddings that surround us:

1. The dress

Who doesn’t love a good wedding dress? There are millions to choose from, and each bride always ends up with the one made just for them. I love traditional dresses or non-traditional dresses. I love white, pink, blue or any color! I love seeing how the bride pulls off her dress, what accessories she has and her hair and make-up for the big day.

2. The first look

Any first look on a wedding day is so special. Whether it be with the bride and her father or husband-to-be, or even with the groom and his mother. Many people are against the idea of the couple seeing each other before they’re actually wed, but it’s such an intimate moment that won’t happen every day.

3. The first dance song

The first dance is one of the most classic traditions of a wedding ceremony. There are so many songs in each genre that make a good first dance tune. From Adele, Thomas Rhett and Frank Sinatra, you can’t pick a wrong song. I love when the couple picks a song that reflects both their personalities and sets such a good tone for the wedding.

4. The bridal party

Every bridal party in each wedding is so different. I always look forward to seeing the different colors, styles and people in each wedding. Each bridal party brings something new to the wedding scene. I always love getting to know — if I can — how the bridal party is related to the couple.

5. The bouquet

Pinterest is filled with many wedding bouquets, and that’s because there are a million to choose from. I’ve seen them made out of flowers, fabric and even broaches. I love flowers in general, but seeing how the bride matches her bouquet with the rest of her wedding is so fun.

I hope that my favorite things about wedding season have inspired any of you brides-to-be or anyone who has the same passion for weddings as I do.

Cheers to wedding season!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
