The 5 Best Things About Small Town Fairs

1.) The food.

There is NOTHING on this entire planet that compares to the fried, greasy, calorie laden food that gets served to you by your old Sunday school teachers and third grade soccer coach. French fries drenched in ketchup and cotton candy that leave your fingers feeling like they've been forever bound together make your mouth water just thinking about them.

2.) The people

Since it's a small town fair, the only people there are the ones who live there. Aren't enough seats on the ferris wheel? That's fine, grab a seat on the next one next to your crush from the third grade and the girl who always wears really nice shoes in your science class. It's easy going, and everybody gets along. Trust me, if there was beef, it was taken care of five years ago.

3.) The memories

Everybody has a story about how either you, or your friend got sick from going on the zipper eight times in a row after seeing who could chug their frozen lemonade faster. The holding back of hair while the other lost it in the nearest trashcan is one of the stories you've planned to slip into the speech you'll be giving at their wedding.

4.) All of the animals

You didn't really care about the horse pulls, but you liked to feed them so you went anyway.

5.) The Rides

The ferris wheel, Zipper, Starship, Pirate Ship, and Swings that made you squeal with pure delight (and the Merry-Go-Round you went on 'Ironically' until you were about 17) will always be some of your favorite memories.

Living in a small town definitely had it's drawbacks, but it makes up for it ten fold. Summer and fall will always leave you wanting flashing lights, shining stars and staying up WAY past curfew. going to bed super and early without touching a single drop of alcohol. (Sorry mom)

After working retail seasonally, here are a few tips that I learned in order to make the employees at your favorite store just a little happier and not want to charge you extra on your purchase for being awful. 5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
