5 Best Places To Study For Final Exams

It's part knowing where you study best and part trying to find a place where everyone else already isn't.

It's that time of year again ... final exams are this week.

It may be hard to find places to study since the entire university is doing the same thing. It's part knowing where you study best and part trying to find a place where everyone else already isn't. Here are five of the best places I have found to study at.

1. The Library

This one may be a bit obvious, but also a bit hard during finals week. Most students escape to the library to do all of their late night studying, but it seems like everyone else had the same idea. However, if you can find a remote part of the library, or even a quiet couch to sit on in there, you will find this place to be one of the most effective studying environments.

2. Your Dorm Room

Not the most ideal place, I know, but sometimes you have to make exceptions. There are tons of things in your room to get distracted by, or a roommate that may be studying as well, but sometimes, you have to do what you have to do. My only opinion, don't study on your bed ... you will want to fall asleep after five minutes.

3. Coffee Shop

Now this can be a coffee shop on or off campus. My own preference is off campus because there's a less of a chance of becoming distracted by someone you know, or be tempted to walk off somewhere else if you see someone head in a certain direction. This is usually a quiet spot to get a lot of studying done and who doesn't like some java while studying?!

4. An Empty Classroom or Hallway

All of the places above hold distractions galore, so why not try a place a bit more remote. Studying in an empty classroom is perfect because there is a good chance you won't be interrupted. If you can't find an empty classroom, try to find an empty hallway. I've actually just used an empty hallway to study for a final before the class and I found it to be the most effective place for me.

5. A Tutoring Center

Makes sense, right? You may think you don't need the extra help, but you may; however the bonus? They'll make sure that you keep focus to study. This is great when you're on a time crunch to study and know that you can't have any distractions, but may need a little help here and there.

These, in my opinion, are the best places to study, but like always, try to find something that works for you. My favourite is the empty hall or classroom, but maybe you'll find out you need some noise to study and you'll find that a more populated area is best for you.

Good luck during finals week!

April Ludgate

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
