I love makeup.
I have this deep lingering fascination with the wide array of beauty products available all around the world. I think I've invested most of my money trying to find the most beautiful and well-made products I can find. In this process, I have learned that there are some products that are not worth your money and some that I would throw all my money at. Low key, that just means I'm broke but I have a lot of glitter. It also means I can compile lists of what products are worth your money and which you should give the cold-shoulder to. There's a plus side to everything!
Lipstick is a staple in every makeup lovers collection. Whether you love a full face of glam or like to spruce up your everyday look with a dash of color, lipstick is probably the simplest, most-used and recognized item in the beauty industry. There are many arrays of lipstick types but the most long lasting and one of the most popular is the liquid lipstick. Liquid lipsticks come in different finishes and formulas but some of the industries finest can be found at your local drugstore. Some come from wildly popular or controversial indie companies and some are staples of a luxury brand. We may all have our preferences but many of these will make you feel undeniably beautiful.
5. Lime Crime - Matte Velvetine Lipstick ($20).
Lime Crime
Lime Crime is a wildly controversial company with a wide array of indie products with an ethereal vibe. If you can get past the drama, you will find some of the prettiest cosmetics in the industry and at the highlight you'll find their Matte Velvetine Lipsticks. Their wide array of colors are note-worthy but their formula is extraordinary. The lipstick is light and smooth and is pretty much budge-proof. My favorite is their Black Velvet.
4. Sephora Collection - Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick ($14).

Sephora Collection products are either a hit or a miss. There's no in between. However, their Cream Lip Stain formulas are by far my favorite of their products. With over 70 colors and a lightweight formula, Sephora Collection's Liquid Lipstick is a top contender. The shades of these lipsticks are beautiful and suit the needs of every skin, undertone and style.
3. Yves Saint Laurent - Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain ($37).

Yes, it's pricey. Yves Saint Laurent is a luxury brand with incredibly packaging. While many of their products have worthy dupes, the Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain does not. Their formula in conjunction with their stunning packaging make it the lipstick you will want to invest in for those special occasions. Not to mention, their applicator is completely unique and the pigmentation is incomparable.
2. Tie: Kat Von D - Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20) & Jeffree Star Cosmetics - Velour Liquid Lipstick ($18).
The Beauty Gazette
Yes, I dare. These two ex-best friends may have some serious beef but their lipstick formula quality is undeniable. These two lipstick formulas are both incredibly reliable, long-lasting and creamy and their color range is creative. Their packaging is fun and full of what each their founders are: unique. They tie because they are equally as quintessential to your lipstick collection, all drama aside.
1. Milani - Amore Matte Lip Creme ($5.99).

You read correctly. The best liquid lipstick in the industry can be found at your local drugstore. It's creamy formula, intoxicating scent, availability, color selection and packaging make it a top contender but the price makes it a clear winner. Run down to your local drug store and try it for yourself. Not to mention that Milani, as a company, has worked hard to genuinely listen to their consumers and provide us with winning product after product, drama free.
There are large arrays of incredible products that can be found in every makeup line, no matter the price. Sometimes, we have to step outside of the ordinary routine to find the products that best suit us. While this list does not encompass every liquid lipstick there is, it does contain those that are known to be excellent products and my personal favorites. I chose to focus on the products that I believe had the most unique approaches with excellent formulas. Regardless, they are worth a try. After all, beauty is about more than bias.
