It's that time of year again. Summer is over and Fall internships are in full swing. You're taking trains and cars to get you to the place that will give you lots of experience. Theres so much being an intern teaches you and some valuable lessons you take with you. Whether you're at a small company or interning at a corporate level, there so many different lessons you learn. Here are the top lessons you learn working as an extension of your education.

1. Communication

You'll learn how to communicate with your superiors and take that lesson with you into the future. It could be learning how to write a perfected email or have a conversation in a business meeting. Communication is key in the workplace and it's one of the best lessons interning can teach you.

2. To Be Assertive

Interning is great for the resume, but is also away for you to land a job after school ends. Being an intern shows you how to talk action and be assertive in your position. You take action to get things done and it's a also a great quality to show to a future boss.

3. Networking

Networking is becoming more and more important. Connections have become everything and when you first enter a new office you're meeting all new people. You learn new names and have conversations with people you never thought you'd cross paths with. These conversations could be crucial down the line from anyone from a secretary to the CEO.

4. You figure out your interest

Most likely you're interning about something that correlates to your major. This is great hands on experience that will either show you that you've found exactly what you want to do or tell you that your major isn't exactly for you. It helps guide you through your future plans.

5. Time Management

From class, to work, back to your internship. You are running in every different direction to keep up with your life and keep up on your responsibilities, but interning shows you how to get your classwork in, your social life and your interning responsibilities done all in one day. It's all about time management and making it in time for your internship always.

Interning is one of the best experiences you can have so rock that internship this Fall and enjoy all the lessons it has to offer.
