You're sucked into a last minute holiday party and you don't know what to have on hand for the night ahead. Of course beer and wine can do the trick but what will make your party that much better? Here is the list of holiday cocktails you need on handle your holiday party,
1. Eggnog
which includes:
1 small glass of eggnog (I prefer store bought because I have other shit to do),
1oz spiced rum (Sailor Jerry is my favorite with this combination)
A dash of, allspice, cinnamon, or nutmeg. Whatever suits your fancy.
I chose this as number one because it is the most holiday, Holiday drank you need. With a quaint blend of milk and spunky spices, with a heavy splash of rum, you most definitely cannot forget to drink some egg nog this holiday season. Everyone usually has it on hand and it's gives you quite the spice drive needed to endure your holidays packed with children and family excitement. It comes highly recommended from many dairy farmers and now almond farmers from us non dairy folks and still packs quite a nice punch for anyone needing recommendations I would lightly sip on this throughout your day or save a nice glass for after dessert.
2. The White Russian
Which includes:
1oz of your favorite coffee liquor
1oz vodka of your liking
1/2 Cup of milk or sweet cream
*Feeling a little sleepy or need a boost, throw in some fresh coffee too. Couldn't hurt anything!*
Have you ever been in an awkward situation around family members? You know the ones where you're trying really hard to get out of a conversation but it's just not working? Well here is what you need to steer yourself away from your odd family members. Go RUN and find your freshest milk, throw in a bit Kahlua or whatever is on hand, milk, and a dash of vodka. It's the drink of your dessert dreams and what will get you through the holidays. Good luck to you all and too all who drank too many, a good night!
3. Mimosa, which includes:
Rough Estimate because everyone drinks their mimosas a bit different..
2 Parts Champagne to
1 Part Orange juice
Throw in some berries you have in the fridge and make it fancy! (Any berries will do)
Everyone needs a mimosa to start out their holiday festivities. Right when you wake up I expect to hear that bottle of champagne popping right away. Yes, skip the bacon, pop a champagne bottle, throw it in some Orange Juice and I'm right awake, along with everyone else who has to cook and clean all day. Not only does it give you a dose of vitamin c with a splash of excitement but it gives you drive to deal with the day ahead, whatever it may bring! GOOD MORNING HOLIDAYS!
4. Candy Cain Cocktail
1 FINELY crushed candy cane for garnish
2 oz strawberry vodka
4 dashes white crème de menthe
2 oz Cranberry Juice
Mix well in a shaker with ice cubes and serve cold.
You know you are going to have some family member at your get together who aren't n board with the whole fresh breath thing so here is your refreshing way out of bad breath! I have recently "stumbled" upon this refreshing drink and figured it quite pleasing. It would be a splash of refreshment in between appetizers and family friends you need to mingle with before you sprint to the main table to get your munch on. I would try out some egg nog and get in some good family play time before you go running out the door to get to the next holiday party. Yes we love our friends and family but not everyone can love everything about their family. It's just not possible.
5. Spiked Hot Chocolate which includes
Another recipe you can make to your liking:
1 fresh warm brew of hot chocolate
+/- 2 oz of coffee liquor or rum *this varies upon how your day is going*
Yes, this is real. Attention to all mommies: Throw some rum into your hot cocoa and enjoy! When your children ask what you're drinking you're drinking hot cocoa! It's the perfect cover! You are ready to now open presents, serve some food and carry on with whatever you need to for the night. You have got this covered.
