Five Best Christmas Crafts
Tip Junkie

Are you in need of some fun family activities for the holiday's? Some fun Christmas gear to spice up the home for this Christmas season? Here are the five best need-to-know crafts for your Christmas season.

1. Candy cane reindeer

This is a pretty simple Christmas craft concept. What you'll need for this craft is:

-Brown pipe-cleaners, wrapped candy canes, googly eyes, and small red pom-poms.

Simply wrap a single pipe-cleaner around the curve of the cane and bend into desired ear format (see picture below). Glue 2 googly eyes below the pipe-cleaner and glue a single red pom-pom below the eyes. You should have ears, eyes, and a nose.

2. Countdown to Christmas calendar

To make a Christmas countdown calendar, you will need the following:

-A blackboard, chalk, durable red or green string, 31 tiny clothespins, and 31 manila envelopes (such as the ones used for keys).

There are 31 days in December, so in order to have space for all the days, you will need to string about 4 or 5 lines horizontally across the blackboard. Draw/personalize each of the tiny manila envelopes with the days of December and any other personal Christmas design. Then use the tiny clothespins to hang each of the envelopes up in numerical order. Use the chalk to personalize the board at the top and any other clear space remaining on the board. You can either remove the envelopes as the days of December progress or put tiny candies in them (received on each day).

3. Toilet paper Santa

You can really design these however you want. But what you could use:

-Toilet paper rolls, markers/paint, construction paper, and cotton balls.

Cut out the construction paper in whatever shape you wish to glue onto the toilet paper (for example Santa's bag/hands/legs and feet etc. shown in picture). Outline the image in pencil and then paint/draw over it in color. Use the cotton balls to glue on white trimmings on Santa's outfit and beard.

4. Noodle snowflake

You will need:

-Dry pasta noodles, glue, sliver paint, silver glitter, and string.

When buying the noodles for this project, you can get any variation of geometrically shaped pasta noodles. The best ones are the circular ones as shown below. Glue them together on their sides to form a snowflake. Wait until they are dry and paint them in silver or white paint. Before the paint drys, sprinkle glitter over the wet paint. If desired, loop a string through the pasta holes to hang from the tree.

5. Terra Cotta pot snowmen

This last craft is incredibly simple. You will need:

-A Terra Cotta pot, paint, and a baby's beanie hat.

Turn the Terra Potta pot upside down and paint as desired. When completed, place the beanie hat over the top (base) of the Terra Potta pot. You can also paint Santas, elves, or any other Christmas theme.

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
