Coconut oil, the holy grail of all superfoods on this planet. When I tell you that you can use this magical oil in and on everything, I mean it. Personally, I use this bad boy for every little thing beauty-wise, but you’d be surprised what other useful purposes it has. Here are a few coconut oil uses everyone should include in their beauty routine:

1. Makeup brush cleaner

Have you ever heard of the saying, “Oil breaks down oil?” Well, it’s a hundred percent true. Setting your dirty makeup brushes to soak in a mixture of coconut oil mixed with water will help break down the leftover makeup and allow for an easier soaping process. All you’ll need is a half cup of warm water and mix it with a tablespoon or two of coconut oil.

Once your soaking process is over don’t forget to use a gentle makeup brush cleanser to remove the leftover makeup and oil. Soaking your makeup brushes with oil will also help to soften the brush bristles and collect less makeup. This is a good process to do every weekend, allowing one day for your brushes to soak and the following day to cleanse.

2. Hot oil hair treatment

Depending on the thickness and length of your hair you will be able to estimate how much coconut oil you should microwave. Simply microwave for about a minute and 30 seconds, taking breaks in between to stir. Once your oil treatment is hot, you can apply to dry hair beginning at the ends and working your way up to your roots. Just make sure that you have the most amount of coverage and allow it to set in for an hour. After you’ve done your treatment it’s important to shampoo and condition your hair. Coconut oil will help to add shine,

3. Body scrub

If you’ve been spending too much money purchasing body scrubs from different beauty brands it’s time to try out this inexpensive and easy DIY. Simply combine coconut oil and granulated sugar in equal parts. To top off this awesome body scrub, add the zest of an orange for a little citrus scent but also for the brightening components. You can also add two teaspoons of vanilla extract for a warmer scent, instead of the zest. The sugar will help to give you a deep yet gentle scrub. The oil will act as a smoothing and nourishing agent leaving you feeling soft right after exfoliating.

4. Facial makeup remover

Conventional makeup removers contain certain alcohols, which are drying to the skin. Using coconut oil as a makeup remover is more nourishing and strong enough to melt away even the most waterproof mascaras on the market. First, you have to massage the oil into your skin, especially in areas with heavy makeup. Once you notice the makeup melting away, use a warm washcloth to pat down your skin and remove the leftover oil. Making sure to rinse off the oil completely is very important, but you can add a little bit of oil to the base of your eyelashes to help them grow.

5. Shaving oil

Did you know that coconut oil is naturally antimicrobial? Well, it is! This natural and less expensive version of a typical shaving cream does the exact same job. Coconut oil will also help to soothe your sensitive skin and leave your skin feeling smooth and hydrated. Reach for the oil the next time you find yourself picking up a can filled with chemicals.

There you have it. It's amazing how one jar of coconut oil can transform your beauty routine by making it less expensive, natural and easier. I a hundred percent stand by the fact that coconut oil can be used for everything, even things aside from our beauty routines.

So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
