April showers bring May flowers? More like April showers bring extremely stressed and depressed college students.
In college, April seems to be the month that is most dreaded during the second semester. Piled up deadlines, the yearning for summer, the never-ending hours in the lib, and the confusing weather that bring on the seasonal allergies. Yeah, I think you catch my drift why April is a bit of a jerk.
Here are five reasons why April is the worst month for college students!
1. The mass amount of school work.
April is the month better known as "let's assign everything we didn't have time to do all semester in 4 weeks" month. Time-consuming papers, projects, tests, and quizzes all being thrown at once, while still managing to learn 6 more chapters from each subject.
2. The bipolar weather.
April brings a variation of weather patterns, from rainy and warm to cloudy and cold, to sunny and pollinated. The colds and allergies come and go like an ocean breeze, which brings on the sniffles, coughs, and constant sneezes amidst classrooms, libraries, and all throughout college campuses everywhere.
3. The extreme need for summer.
YOU'RE SO CLOSE YET SO FAR. Summer is right around the corner yet it seems like an eternity away with all the stress and pressure you're facing. You're thrown into a hurricane of school work and before you know it finals week is upon us and the sweet taste of summer has arrived. It's truly a whirlwind.
4. The crazy social calendar.
College students are professional multi-taskers, so with the hectic school schedule, we also have to balance a crazy social calendar. Final events for our extracurricular activities, trying to work as much as possible to save up spending money for your summer adventures, while still taking advantage of your college years and spending as much time as you possibly can with your college BFF'S.
5. The fact that you're one step closer to adulthood.
The scariest part of all is the fact that we're all one step closer to the "G" word, adulting, and the real world. The thought of graduation brings up decisions about your future career, stress about whether or not you did get that job or internship, and the cold hard realization that you can't live with your best friends and dance in frat basements for the rest of your lives...let me live in denial a little longer, please.
