Let's admit it, college can be challenging academically. So here are some apps that will help change your academic life, from helping you focus better to improving your grades.

Duolingo

Duolingo is an amazing app that helps you improve your language skills in a fun and simple way. It allows users to improve their reading, writing, and speaking skills. Currently, the app offers languages like Spanish, German, Portuguese, Dutch, Irish, French, and many other languages!

Nozio

Nozio is an ambient sound equalizer to help you relax or focus better. The app allows you to mix a variety of sounds like ocean waves, rain, thunderstorms, cafe sounds, and even blue whales to create a mix of sound that is best for you! I use Nozio a lot when I need to study and find it super effective!

TinyScanner

Everyone knows the college students have no time to go to the library do things like scan documents! So the next time you need to scan something download this app. The TinyScanner app is great because it allows users to scan their documents with their phones! All you have to do is take a picture of the document from your phone's camera and TinyScanner will turn it into a pdf. I would definitely recommend this app as its convenient and a real time saver!

Quizlet

Quizlet is a mobile and online based application that allows users to make flashcards of material and then practice it. In addition to making your own flashcards, you can also search and find flashcards others have made for classes you are in! I have been using Quizlet for a long time and really do think its helped my study better.

Grammarly

Okay so Grammarly is more like an extension rather than an app but I just had to talk about it because it seriously changed my life! Grammarly is a writing enhancement platform that can check for a variety of things from grammatical errors to plagiarism. The extension can be downloaded to your phone or chrome browser and it will check these errors for you in real time as you type on any device!

Check out some of these apps to help improve your academic life!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
