It's getting closer to the end of the year and things are getting stressful. You have work or school deadlines, shopping to do, food to make, all on top of keeping your sanity in the coming month.

My solution? Procrastinate. Waste time. Kick back and relax, and forget that I have that paper due at 8 am tomorrow. No big deal! And the best way to procrastinate these days? On your phone!

You have apps, upon apps, upon apps available to you to waste away the minutes of the day where you could be getting your heaps of work done. There's an app for every taste and budget (but why spend money on something when you could get it for free?), and best of all if anyone asks what you're doing you can always say you're replying to an email.

Without further ado, here are 10 apps worthy of wasting your time on:

1. Fishdom

What it is: A puzzle video game, where you beat puzzle levels to earn coins, to buy fish for your aquariums. The higher the level, the more fish and decoration options you get! Plus the levels are endless!

Why you should play it: Frankly it's kind of addicting. You get to feed and name your fish, play puzzles (similar to Candy Crush) and get encouragement from your virtual fish friends when you lose. Plus you only get 5 lives and then you have to wait for them all to recharge so it's a limited time wasting activity.

Where you can get it: Fishdom is free for both Google Play and iOS.

2. ColorTherapy

What it is: A coloring book app. That's it.

Why you should get it: There are a ton of free coloring "pages" and you get a wide range of colors for free too! It also easily lets you share your creations on social media, or save it to your phone. Plus there are new pages every day to go and color, so you'll never run out of things to do!

Where you can get it: ColorTherapy is free for Google Play and iOS.

3. Buzzfeed

What it is: An app version of the website, Buzzfeed has everything from current events to funny quizzes, with things written from both staff and community members.

Why you should get it: Because how can you live without knowing what kind of candle you are? Seriously, if you need a laugh there's something on Buzzfeed for you. If you need to catch up on world events, Buzzfeed has you covered (but also maybe double check your sources before you get upset).

Where you can get it: Buzzfeed is free for Google Play and iOS. It's also available at www.buzzfeed.com.

4. Pinterest

What it is: A mobile friendly version of the website, Pinterest is a site that where you can "pin" or save stuff for later on boards you create. You can look up things from Christmas DIY's to tattoo ideas to pictures of your dream car. The opportunities are endless!

Why you should get it: Because you can literally spend hours on here and not notice. Plus, no one is going to judge you if you don't do anything you have saved on your Craft board, but it's fun to pretend you'll do it!

Where you can get it: Pinterest is free for Google Play and iOS. It's also available at www.pinterest.com.

5. Duolingo

What it is: An app that helps you learn other languages in an easier way than in the classroom. Duolingo uses science in order to best measure how you learn new a language and then repeats these measures to ensure your success.

Why you should get it: It wastes time but it's also productive in the long run! You can spend as little or as long as you want on it, but if you set reminders a little green birdy will pop up and tell you to practice your language skills. Plus who doesn't love wowing their friends with a flawless phrase in German (or Russian, or French, or Spanish, or any of the other languages they have)?!

Where you can get it: Duolingo is free for both Google Play and iOS. There is also apparently a website at www.duolingo.com.

And that's it! Hope you have fun wasting time with these apps as much as I do!

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
