5 Apps Every Sorority Girl Needs

Technology is everywhere!! It can be hard to keep up with all of the latest trends and advancements with smart phones. Keep reading to find out about the latest apps you can get on your phone to stay in the loop.

5. The Companion App – It’s a free personal safety-monitoring app that allows friends or family to walk you home late at night. It works by having the user request someone to keep them company and virtually track their walk home by GPS. The map then shows the user walking to their destination and detects changes in movement and will contact the police if the user doesn’t respond when it asks if they’re OK.

4. Meerkat – This app allows users to live-stream videos through their mobile. This is extremely popular at festivals like South by Southwest where people can stream all they see at the event to their followers. So it’s like Snapchat except no time limit!

3. Giphy Cam – This is an app that provides Instagram-esque filters for GIFs. Everything from 3D to film-noir can be added to your personally made GIF. You just need to capture a five-frame clip and then use the app to make, edit and send out the hottest GIFs.

2. CARROT – This app is called “the to-do list with a personality.” Instead of the usual boring to-do lists, CARROT will make your boring daily tasks a game. CARROT becomes happy when you get things done but upset when you don’t accomplish your tasks. Beware, she is extremely sassy.

1. Go Greek Now - This is basically an Instagram that only carries Greek-related photos! And it’s not unusual if your picture gets around 1,000 likes on it. It’s a great way to connect with other Greek students all over the nation. You don’t have to pity-follow anyone either because there are no followers. You just upload photos and you get to see what it would be like to be in your chapter on the other side of the country.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
