Here are five of my current favorite and most used apps.

In this day and age, everyone is using some sort of electronic device - whether it be a phone, tablet, laptop - most of us have one or the other or both. Aside from pre-downloaded apps or popular ones like Snapchat, Instagram, and GroupMe, here is a list of some of my favorite and most used apps for editing, school, and communication!

1. Houseparty

My friends and I are constantly Facetiming, but the iPhone 7 doesn't have the group video feature. Recently, my friend introduced me to this app, which allows you to have group video chats with your friends. So far, I haven't noticed any limits on the number of friends who are able to join; I've been in a chat with up to 6 people in it. Essentially, it is like Skype, but more phone-friendly, whereas Skype is easier to use on a laptop, based on my experience.

2. Daily Horoscope

Most people who know me know that I keep up with my zodiac sign (which is Leo by the way) and this app. Everyday, I read my horoscope and think about how it may apply to current projects that I'm working on, my relationships with others, and a personal relationship with myself. Horoscopes aren't for everyone. I get that. But even if you aren't a firm believer in them, it won't hurt to read the advice on there and take it into consideration.

3. Remind

Many of my teachers use the Remind app to give us updates to our schedule for the day or reminders of important deadlines. For those of you who also have teachers on Remind, I highly suggest downloading the app as well. Even though the texts send to your phone without the app, Remind allows you to reply to your teacher if you have questions. Personally, I have used it a lot for communicating with teachers about questions or just keeping up with them over break!

4. Meitu

Meitu is probably my favorite photo editing app at the moment that I use for posting pictures on Instagram. I previously used the common VSCO Cam until I discovered all of the bright and unique filters on Meitu.

5. Truth or Dare

If you can't think of a good Truth or Dare question, this app will randomly select players and ideas. It's fun to play when you're bored waiting in line or on a car ride rather than using up all your data on social media!

Instead of using some of the most popular social media apps, maybe you'll find some of these games or communicating networks fun and helpful as well!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Here's a personal archive of a few of the things I learned after going away for the first time.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
