During a time period where there is so much going on in the world, many of us fear to adventure out. Last semester, I decided to do something different and go outside of my comfort zone. I decided to travel to Germany with an international media class from my university (University of South Carolina Upstate).
1. I met lifelong friends.
I became friends with amazing people I had been in class with for the past two weeks. I had no Idea we would mesh so well together on the trip, but that just goes to show you that never know what friendships can be formed when you take chances to get to know people.
2. I saw how people from another country view Americans.
While I was in Europe I learned that many Europeans believe that most Americans are supportive of Donald Trump because of how often he’s shared in the media, but that’s not the case.
3. I met great people in Germany.
I loved meeting people from another country who were so different from me, but at the same time we found many things we had in common. I loved doing something different on a Friday night, on a beautiful bridge overlooking the water while drinking the night away.
4. I saw people from all over the world.
Ever since I was a child, I’ve always been interested in different nationalities and cultures. I loved hearing someone speak French right next to me and I also loved seeing people who look different all around me.
5. Last, but not least I felt inspired.
I felt inspired to live life to the fullest and take advantage of all opportunities.
If you get the chance to go abroad, do it and enjoy every minuet of it!
