Mom's are awesome, we all know that. My mom, in particular, is a little bit extra awesome, for obvious reasons like giving birth to me. But aside from that, my mom does so many other great things that make her awesome. She raised my sister and I as a single parent, works a full time job, and is always involved in our extra curricular activities. All of that, plus the other amazing things she does, you can only imagine how busy her life can get. So over spring break I decided to style 5 different outfits for my awesome mom, keeping in mind that she is busy and on the go. These 5 outfits not only celebrate my mom as a confident, beautiful, curvy woman, but celebrate women everywhere who may not take the time to celebrate themselves. No matter your shape, size, color, or even how busy your schedule is, you deserve to feel beautiful, confident, even a little sexy. And you definitely deserve to look fabulous. So remember ladies, while your busy making everyone else smile, don't forget to live your life for you too.

When putting these outfits together I made sure to keep in mind my mom's own personal style, like her love for leather jackets and anything else that comes from Torrid. I also tried to take her out of her comfort zone with lots of bright colors. Remember that clothing is just an expression of who you are, so wear what makes you comfortable. But don't be afraid to try new things!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
