5 Adventurous Spots For Your Next Trip To Paris

A few years ago I was able to take a trip to Paris, France with my dad and sister. This visit included well-known sites like the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame, and Versailles. However, after getting lost a few times, we found a little quiet street with some fantastic food. It was our go to spot for the rest of the week, and we realized it had very little tourism. It's these types of secret places that make me appreciate a popular tourist country like France.

So wether this is your first or fifteenth time going to Paris, France, here are five places you should add to your list.

Warning: this list for the adventurous!

1. All Aboard the Curious Dodo Manege

Fairly new (built in 1992), the carousal features exotic and extinct animals from around the world. Centered in secluded greenery near the Natural History Museum, the Curious Dodo Manege is a unique, yet slightly horror-film creepy ride to behold. Ride if you dare.

2. Climb the Sacre Coeur Basilica

3. Enter the Gypsy World of 59 Rivoli

Hard to describe, this unique street is filled with color and creativity. Fully renovated, 59 Rivoli is a space where artists can exhibit their works, and viewers can freely roam.

4. Become Friends With the Dead in the Catacombs

With the remains of more than six million people, the catacombs of Paris is an eerie walk. However, these underground cemeteries are becoming well-known so make sure you visit during the weekday.

5. Travel Paris Through the Underground

Now open to the public, travel through the sewers of Paris and even take a boat ride through the eerie water.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
