5 Actors You Didn't Know Were Irish

One of everyone's favorite past times is going to or watching a movie. We love to be immersed in new worlds and forget about the reality around us. Many times we are surprised to find out that many actors and actresses don't use their real accents when acting. The accents that they use on screen seem so natural that it's easy to forget what he or she truly sounds like. Since Saint Patrick's Day is quickly approaching, meaning that everyone will be celebrating all things Irish (whether you're Irish or not), check out some of the movies and TV shows starring some actors that you may not have realized were Irish.

1. Colin O'Donoghue

Best known for his role as Captain Hook on "Once Upon a Time," O'Donoghue hails from Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland. On the show, you can't even tell that he's from Ireland because he disguises his accent. He joined the cast during the second season and has been a regular ever since (IMDB).

2. Evanna Lynch

Born in the town of Termonfeckin, Ireland, Evanna Lynch grew up to become one of everyone's favorite wizards. From 2007 to 2011, she starred as Luna Lovegood, a quirky, but the lovable student in Ravenclaw, in the Harry Potter movies. She won the role after going to an audition and beating out 15,000 other girls (IMDB).

3. Jack Gleeson

The man who brought the boy-king, Joffery Baratheon to life (or death) on "Game of Thrones," was born in Cork, Ireland. Though he was one of the most hated characters on television, Gleeson has actually done quite well for himself. After his time on "Game of Thrones" ended, he opened his own production company in Dublin (IMDB).

4. Sarah Bolger

Born in Dublin, Ireland, Bolger grew up to become a real-life Disney princess. Like Colin O'Donoghue, Bolger is a "Once Upon a Time" veteran. For three years she starred as Princess Aurora, also known as Sleeping Beauty on the show. Currently, she stars as Violet on ABC's "Agent Carter" (IMDB).

5. Liam Neesan

Liam Neesan is a man of many talents. Before he became an actor, the Ballymena, Northern Ireland actor held jobs as a truck driver, amateur boxer, assistant architect and a forklift operator. Best known for his roles in "Schindler's List," "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" and the "Taken" movies, Neeson continues to entertain people on the silver screen (IMDB).

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
