With New Years right around the corner, it's time to pick a New Years Resolution (or a few). Here are some tips to help you set actionable resolutions, whatever they may be.
1. Set goals for yourself that mean something to you. Pick things you really want to do, and have the motivation to do.
2. Don't make too many. Limit yourself to 2 or 3 at most. Too many resolutions begins to feel like work, and eventually you lose your motivation.
3. Write them down! Doing that makes it real, rather than just something you're thinking about. Hanging it up somewhere (like a bathroom mirror or kitchen fridge) will also help remind and reinforce you to work towards them.
4. Write out steps to get you to your goal, rather than just going full steam ahead. This will keep you better organized, less stressed, and give you a plan of action.
5. No matter how big or how small your goal is, have a support system willing to help motivate you along the way. It will make it so much easier to achieve your goal, and if one of them is willing to work towards them with you, it will be even better.
