We celebrate Independence Day on the Fourth of July every year, as a day that represents the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America as an independent nation. Fireworks are a must-see when it comes to celebrating this iconic day in history and Rhode Island certainly has some of the most breathtaking shows in all of New England. The following fireworks displays take place between July 1st and 4th in several ocean state locations, so make room on your calendars to attend at least one of these spectacular events.

Newport, RI - July 4th

Time: 9:15

Watch the beautiful Newport Harbor fireworks from the waterfront, Fort Adams, Kings Park or several of Newport's waterfront restaurants and bars.

Warwick, RI - Jul 1st

Time: 9:00

Oakland Beach Seawall, 889 Oakland Beach Ave hosts the city’s annual fireworks display, which can also be seen unobstructed from City Park along the shoreline.

East Providence, RI - July 3rd

Time: 9:00

The gates of Pierce Memorial Stadium, 201 Mercer Street open at 6:00 p.m. for a free concert, fireworks and food concession.


Bristol, RI - July 3rd

Time: 9:30

Independence Park, Thames Street in downtown Bristol has a spectacular fireworks display over the Bristol Harbor.

North Providence, RI - July 3rd

Time: 6:00-9:00

Governor John A. Notte Jr. Park, off Douglas Avenue will have a f
ood court and live entertainment followed by fireworks.


Block Island, RI - July 3rd

Time 9:00

The stunning Town Beach Pavilion fireworks can be viewed from several locations on Block Island.

Portsmouth, RI - July 4

Time: 9:30

Louis Escobar will have his annual fireworks display over the cow pastures at Escobar's Highland Farm, 133 Middle Road.

South Kingston, RI - July 4

Time: 5:30-10:00

Come to Old Mountain Field, 875 Kingstown Road to enjoy the fireworks display, live music by Waits Corner and The Westmoreland Street Jammers, as well as food concessions and children's activities.

Newport to Rose Island, RI - July 4

Time: 5:30-10:30

Take the ferry from Newport to Rose Island, for an evening of food, music and of course breathtaking fireworks. The price of tickets (Adults: $90 including ferry to the island, Walk-on: $65 and Children ages 6 to 12: $35) include a barbecue dinner, lighthouse tours and boat transport.

Westerly, RI - July 4

Time: Dusk

Misquamicut Beach Wuskenau Beach Pond Side, 316 Atlantic Avenue will hold their annual fireworks display at dusk!
