With only a few short weeks until Firefly 2017, the ultimate task of packing is among us. Whether you're a rookie or a Firefly vet, this list is jam-packed with festival must-haves you may not have thought about... (no pun intended).
1. Sunscreen... Don't fight me on this one.
2. Strap on shoes
First timers take notes, these work better than any shoe in the mud and ship last minute on Amazon.
3. Camelbak Hydration backpacks
VITAL TO SURVIVAL!! You can bring these into the festival and are the easiest way to stay hydrated.
4. Large tarps
There's a lot of uses with this one but my best tip is to put it in your tent to keep the rain from seeping through!
5. Carabiners
Hang your clothes to dry. Clip your keys to your belt loops. Hanging up your hammock. The possibilities are endless here.
6. Large bathroom towels
These are especially good if it rains. They soak up more water than paper towels in a pinch.
7. A tent? A sleeping bag? I hope you like all knew that.
8. But maybe you didn't think to bring a canopy tent!
To keep shade during the day, hang dry clothes on when it rains and relax under in between sets.
9. A portable grill
It's unclear in the required, allowed and prohibited list on Firefly's website if charcoal grills are allowed this year. However, a gas power one is easier to use and typically smaller, perfect for cooking over the weekend!
10. A pan of Chocolate Cereal Bars, made ahead of time.
Easy to make and are fan favorite at the campsite.
11. Coolers filled with ice!
12. Empty gallon jugs
Fill them up with water to drink or fill them up with water to take a "shower" with at your campsite
13. A bathing suit
Taking a shower in public has never been easier.
14. Hot dogs, lots of them.
15. Hot dog buns and fixings
Let me tell you hot dogs are cheap, easy and attract friends. What could be better!
16. Battery powered radio
17. Firefly artist themed CDs
TRUST ME ON THIS, your camp site YOU WILL WANT MUSIC AT YOUR CAMPSITE.
18. A folding table
19. Rain ponchos
And if it rains... It's better to make the most of it than to mope of it.
20. Apples and Oranges
Water resistant fruit to stick in the cooler, full of fuel that will last the whole weekend!
21. Anything you can precook than grill.
Chicken, burgers, bacon, veggies and sausage are all good choices to have packed for the weekend.
22. Tapestries
Not just for decoration, but to keep your campsite shady!
23. Red solo cups and ping pong balls
24. A case of water bottles
25. Comfy folding chairs for your campsite
26. A camping pad (for underneath your sleeping bag)
27. Your favorite band shirts.
Come on, how mad would you be if you got to Firefly and didn't pack your Grateful Dead tie-dye tee? You're welcome for the reminder.
28. An air mattress + air pump
This isn't necessary but it makes life a little bit sweeter.
29. Extra rope and a pocket knife
You never know what could happen to your campsite.
30. Portable chargers
31. A battery powered lantern
32. Flashlights
33. Batteries for both of those
34. Big Ziploc bags
When your cooler starts to melt, use these to double bag your dogs and burgers. Ziplocs are also *clutch* for keeping things dry if it rains.
35. Toilet paper and paper towels
36. Sample sized tolietries
Easier for packing, carefree and easily disposable.
37. Glitter...
For you know who's performance.
38. Trash bags
39. SUNGLASSES
These are too easily forgotten.
40. A box of granola bars
The higher the protein the better!
41. Jumper cables (just in case.)
42. Drawstring bags
To carry your wallet and so on into Firefly.
