The things that will be talked about in this article are extremely personal and I hope that many people can relate to these thoughts as being a student at Idaho State University. I will talk about 25 things that have gone through my head as a student of Idaho State University. They will be in order of freshman thoughts and progress to my now senior thoughts.

Freshman year thoughts:

1. "Wow, this school is not nearly as diverse as they portray it to be."

2. "I can't believe that I ended up at a University where there is literally nothing to do."

3. "Why the hell are all these people staring at me?"

4. "There are so many 'Mohammads' in my art class."

5. "I am so excited for my first college football game this Saturday."

6. "Is this really football?"

7. "Why the hell is it so hard to get up for my eight in the morning math class?"

8. "I feel like I only drink four locos."

9. "Why don't I EVER know what is going on, on campus?"

10."Wait, that homecoming event was today?"

Sophomore year thoughts:

16. "I am glad I came to ISU."

17. "I can't stand ISU."

18. "I am starting to see more diversity around campus this year, I think."

20. "I am so happy I got my lazy ass up for service Saturday, this is really fun."

21. "I think I am actually starting to figure myself out."

22. "Who the hell am I anymore?"

Junior year thoughts:

23. "I think I have lost hope in most of our athletics here, but I love my school and the athletes so I will support no matter what."

24. "I actually made it to junior year."

25. "I am happy to see some of my work pay off."

26. "ISU is really growing and getting better."

27. "I have been here for this long so I might as well make the best of it."

28. "I have a lot of hope for MIKA this year."

29. "I feel like I am not learning anything in most of my classes."

30. "I love my job, a lot of work, but I love it."

31. "I think I am starting to get to know more people."

32. "I can't stand most of these people."

33. "I actually know the difference between bad alcohol and good alcohol now."

34. "MIKA parties are really fun."

Senior year thoughts:

35. "I am now a senior and it is time to buckle down."

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. 1. People assume you are mad all of the time.

2. Ten out of ten times you will give off an intimidating impression to others.

3. People do not acknowledge your feelings because you "do not have any."

4. Constantly being exhausted from trying to smile and not look like a witch.

5. And on the rare occasion your facial expressions show how happy you are, your friends think you are going crazy.

6. Each of your friends has said "I thought you were so mean when I first met you" at some point.

7. Then they follow that by saying "you are just hard to read."

8. So naturally if people do not know you they just assume you are a snob.

9. And when you are actually mad, your facial expressions are horrifying.

10. In the end you always look like you are judging people, when in reality people are ALWAYS judging you.
