With everyone finally falling into the rhythm of the fall semester, now would be a great time to start thinking about casual ways to treat yourself. Showing yourself some love when you're overworked can do wonders for your mind, body, and soul. Now I'm not telling you to #treatyoself to red lobster and a full weekend of massages at spa castle every single weekend. Instead, there are simple easy things you can do that won't break your piggy bank but make you feel spoiled and feeling great at the end of each week. Here are a few I do and some other suggestions on how you can #treatyoself without breaking the bank. I must mention the things listed below, I tend to do on a Sunday to prepare myself for a long week plus I adore the hashtag #treatyoselfsundays

1.TREAT YO BODY:

Hop in the shower with your favorite body scrub, mine is the 'Shea Moisture Argan Oil W/ Shea Hand & Body Scrub w/ Frankincense & Myrrh Extract' I love it because it's all natural and leaves me feeling and smelling wonderful. It's so inexpensive you can find it in a beauty supply store or target for $12.99. I know that sounds pricey especially on a college budget but it's buy 1 get 1 free. So essentially I got two amazing body scrubs for $12.99. If you're not into buying body scrubs my favorite DIY one is the Coffee Body Scrub which helps reduce the appearance of cellulite and if you love coffee as much as I do you'll love leaving the shower smelling like a nice cup of coffee. In my opinion, the only downside was constantly getting coffee grinds stuck in my shower which can damage the drain.

2. TREAT YO FACE:

After leaving the shower feeling as soft as a baby's bottom it's only logical to make sure your face feels the same way which is why I always finish my shower with a face mask. After washing my face with any face wash I tend to use my 'Freemans Feeling Beautiful Chocolate and Strawberry Clay Mask'. This mask can be bought at any beauty supply store and costs $3.49 but it's enough to last you a month and that if you use it three or four times a week. It softens and tones skin while leaving your face smelling like a chocolate bar. It is one of those masks that you have to let dry then wash off but that line has so many other masks for different types of skin that fits right into not blowing all your money.

3. TREAT YO SOUL:

This is my favorite part if you live a healthy lifestyle and don't indulge in cravings quite often this is for you. Pick a meal or a treat where you don't care about calories, what's in the food, or any of your other worries. If you want a slice of cake go for it, maybe you want a pizza do it! My go to cheat treat for Sundays is a pint of talenti, which I happen to believe is a gift from the Gelato Gods. Yes its a bit expensive but if I don't have the entire pint today there's some for next Sunday

Remember the only way to survive this semester is to take time and #treatyoself.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
