It's winter time and the frigged weather has struck again this wintry season, but that isn't a reason to not have style. There is nothing more versatile than a red plaid button up shirt in the winter time. It can be for any occasion and it looks amazing! After finishing fashion school, and now a personal fashion stylist, I see people struggle with versatile items in their wardrobe that they don't know how to wear with any other pieces except for that one look. So I decided to share some of my favorite looks.Below are four simple and stylish ways I style my red plaid button down shirt, because honestly what isn't more festive and winter feeling than one. Next time you want to wear your plaid shirt, see what stylish ways you can wear it. From simple to mixing with patterns, how daring are you?

For look number one above, I buttoned my red plaid shirt until the last button to the collar to give it a more relaxed look. I then added a faux fur vest to add texture and chicness not to mention some warmth. I paired this combo with black jeans and some black booties. You can so pair this with jeans and some hunter boots or tall brown or black riding boots. Just remember if you wear jeans and tall boots make sure your jeans are either skinny or straight! It's a nightmare trying to put boot-cut jeans into tall boots and the end result doesn't look chic at all.

For look number two, this is more of a sporty chic babe look as I like to call it. I first started with a gray graphic tee and tucked that in a little bit into my jeans. Mine is a Canada hockey shirt ( if you know me personally, this doesn't surprise you) This is a way to put your personality into your outfit. Next I put my plaid shirt unbuttoned over top of my tee and then layered that once more with a black leather jacket. Simple black jeans and a neutral toned necklace. For shoes, I went a little bold and wore cheetah print heels to match my personality and to add a little dimension to the outfit. If you don't wear heels, you can simply pair this with some converse, Nikes, or some flat ankle booties.

For look number three, It's the polished office look, or you could even wear this to a holiday party. I tucked my red plaid shirt into this white and nude lace skirt to match. To emphasizes your waste that will give you that perfect looking shape, pull on your shirt upward a little bit just to give you enough to pull over your skirt, still leaving enough tucked in. I paired this look with a chunky jeweled necklace and some black closed heeled velvet booties to make it more of a wintry look. You could also pair this with a black leather skirt for more of a edgy look.

For the last look, its for the daring who isn't afraid to mix patterns together. For the red plaid shirt, I buttoned up fully except for the collar and then put a cheetah print sweater over it. Most people would never dare to try this, but I absolutely love the two prints together. Push up your sweater a tad and unbutton your plaid shirt cuffs then role then over once. Also make sure the collar is over on top of your sweater and the bottom of your plaid shirt is passed your sweater. I paired this daring combo with dark wash jeans and white/nude studded heels. You can also pair this with black pants, or if you want to be even more daring, go with faux leather leggings for more of a night out look.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
