Photography is something that is around us all day, every day. Whether you are just capturing your kids' sports on your iPhone, or looking to make some extra cash with a photography business, there's room for all of us to sharpen up our photography skills and get the best results possible in documenting memories. Here are some tips that anyone can use to sharpen their photography skills.

1. Center the target object

This is something many people forget to do. If there is an object that has meaning or helps get the point across, center it in the image. This helps draw the viewer's attention since most look at the center of a photo and look outward. This is a great way to capture the viewer's attention.

2. Check the lighting

Lighting is one of the key ingredients to a desirable image. Check the area to see if there is good lighting for the image you wish to capture. If there isn't correct lighting, one is likely to encounter a darkened or excessively bright image.

3. Try different angles

Not all objects look great at the same angle. Try various angles as you might find one that really works for creating the image you want. Since not all objects look the way one wants them to, a variety of angles are likely to be used to achieve that perfect photo.

4. Find meaning for the image

In order for the aspects of the image to be in sync, one must decide what the meaning will be for the image, whether it be happy and aloof or sad and sultry. This determination will help you decide which angle to use and also what lighting would look best to set the mood.

Now that you know four simple ways to improve your photography skills, you can rest easy knowing that you'll be able to capture your memories in the best possible way! It will be easy to apply these tips the next time you pull out that handy iPhone or camera and you will soon notice an improvement in your images.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
