Enjoy Some Beautiful Fall Nature

Fall is the perfect time of year for you and your pets to be one with nature. No longer do you have to worry about the ninety to one hundred degree temperatures of summer days. Dehydration and possible heat strokes are concerns of the past. Opposingly, the numbing chill of winter and fears of frostbite are concerns of the future. Now are the glory days of weather and you and your furry friends should make a point to enjoy it. Whether that be by taking a brisk walk in the park, breathing in that refreshingly cool autumn air and seeing all the new colors of the landscape, or just curling up under a cozy blanket to watch a rainy day on the front porch.
Buy An Extra Pumpkin

This one is mainly for pups. When going to the pumpkin patch to pick the perfect pumpkin (try saying that five times fast) consider purchasing one or two extra. Most people don't instantly think "great toy for pets" when they hear the word "pumpkin", but I'm here to tell you that you're wrong. A nice round pumpkin is the perfect alternative to a ball: they both got that sphere thing going for them. Your pooch will have a field day carrying around their new favorite toy. Pumpkins are also a nice seasonal substitute for chemically-coated rawhide for your pup to gnaw on. Remember to keep the size of your pets in mind when purchasing their pumpkins; you wouldn't want a buy a pumpkin too big for your
best friend to enjoy.
DIY Pumpkin Treats

You need not look any further than Pinterest for an array of recipes for pumpkin puppy treats. Personally trying several different recipes over the years, Doggy Dessert Chef's Wheat-Free Peanut Butter Pumpkin Treats are the consistent crowd pleaser. As a plus, with only five ingredients and four steps, it takes less than an hour to make five-to-six dozen treats. For your favorite kitty, you can always add some a quarter teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice and half a teaspoon of catnip to three cups of cream. Serve warmed a half cup at a time. As a word of caution, over indulging in this treat may lead to uneasy stomachs and the unpleasantness that follows. Give sparingly. If you're concerned about easily queasy stomachs, I suggest giving your cat friends a dollop of that whipped cream that would otherwise be going on your pumpkin pie.
Costumes

Your local pet store is bound to have them, but if you are looking for more of a variety I highly recommend checking out BaxterBoo. Speaking particularly about dog costumes, but also cat costumes, they more likely than not are prepared to meet all your needs. So go ahead and make Halloween a celebration for all. Please, though, if wearing costumes appears to cause your pet discomfort or stress, do not put them through the trauma of dressing like a hot dog so you can get the perfect Instagram post. Pet costumes should be enjoyed by all involved.
