4 Ways To Enjoy Spring At Liberty University
Emily Wilkinson

By the time this is published, it will be the beginning of April, which means that we are right in the middle of one of the loveliest seasons: springtime.

As Liberty students know, it is currently quite warm and sunny in Virginia (at the time of writing this, at least), and we are determined to make the most of it. With that in mind, here are a few easy ways that we can welcome this glorious new season into our lives:

1. Go on a walk around campus.

You can go either alone or with friends. (I highly recommend solitary walks.) Put on your headphones and listen to music that reminds you of sunshine and hope. Wander around appreciating the warmth, the breeze, and the blooming trees. It's perfectly alright to go exploring without a specific destination-- and often more fun. Talk to Jesus while you walk (preferably in your thoughts). Stop by the prayer chapel and Montview Mansion and drink in the view-- it's so very beautiful no matter what time of year. Take a walk and enjoy the feeling of being refreshed that it will bring; heaven knows we all need it at this point in the semester.

2. Hike up to the monogram with friends.

Or hike anywhere, really. There are plenty of options to choose from. I admittedly haven't done this yet myself, but I've heard it's a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. (Or an early morning, if you're that kind of person.) Go on an adventure with friends, and appreciate the beauty that's around you (as well as the moments of hilarity y'all are bound to have). Plus, it's exercise. It's really an all-around win.

3. Brighten up your room.

Buy some flowers, either real or fake, to put on your desk. Open up the blinds on a sunny day, especially if your window faces the mountains and not construction. Play your favorite songs as you clean your room or get ready for the day. Turn on fairy lights when needed. Get some room spray in a scent that reminds you of springtime. Share a laugh with your roommate. Open up the door to welcome in friends. When your room is a warmer, brighter place, even the most mundane work can turn out to be quite lovely.

4. Take the time to enjoy all the little things.

Iced tea from Argo on a warm afternoon. Reading for class outside on the steps of Montview. Enoing in the trees. Sitting on the grass (that we are allowed to sit on, ahem) and talking about life with friends. Walking underneath a blooming tree with petals gracefully falling on you and on the sidewalk. Spontaneously making an ice cream run. Listening to music while walking across campus. Warm sunshine along with a cool breeze. Life on this campus is full of so many beautiful little moments-- don't get so caught up in your work that you miss it.

Happy Spring, dear friends! Make the most of every moment of it-- especially while living in such a beautiful place as Liberty University.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

Great Value Colleges

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.
