4 Ways To Eliminate Distraction In The Library

As we enter February, most students have returned to school for the Spring Semester with classes in full swing. Of course, this means desks in the libraries slowly begin to fill as syllabus week becomes a faint memory. As students would much rather be doing anything else besides cracking the books, distractions are sought and productivity is lost. Here are 5 ways to eliminate distraction:

1. Find your study space

Working in the same place helps your brain focus because it knows it's time to get cracking. Familiarizing yourself with an area also helps you habituate to anything from annoying sounds to interesting ceiling cracks.

2. Don't open social media

I know, it's all too tempting. The problem is, once you start, it's hard to stop.

3. Put the phone away

Keep yourself from checking your phone every five minutes and playing games by just not taking it out in the first place. Out of sight, out of mind.

4. Cover the clock

Watching the seconds tick by will only accentuate your misery. Knowing how late it is or how many hours you've wasted away will only make you more anxious.
