Every time I have a conversation with someone, I ask them how they are, and begin to explain to me how they are constantly busy...aka "adulting". The conversation most always ends in them telling me they are stressed out. It has even come to the point where popular music artist are writing songs about being stressed, make it to the top of the charts, because we buy these songs, relating to them. Why? Because we are all just stressed out. Whether someone is physically, mentally or emotionally stressed, it can be draining. It can be the stress before finals, stress of being overworked or stress from having kids, but sometimes we forget that we need some time for ourselves. America, it is time to take more than a second to just stop and breathe. You might be someone who says "I'm too busy," or " I don't have time." I'm about to burst your bubble, because you, my friend, are lying to yourself. Everyone has a minute in their day to relax, but you're not letting yourself. If we took the time to stop complaining about how stressed we are and more on how we can distress ourselves, then we would have totally different results. I try my best to not get stressed out, because why create wrinkles on your face from crying? Instead, you can be calm and get less wrinkles than you should... I know, easier said than done. I'm not saying I don't get stressed out, but I try to remind myself that everything is going to be a lesson learned. Then again, I have always been a calm person even through tough situations, but it is different for everyone! So, if it is an hour out of the whole day or the entire day, we need to stop and (not hammer time), but relax! So go ahead, set yourself some time and treat yourself.

1. Go for a run or walk.

I personally find running/walking to be such a great stress reliever and helps you get your mind off of how your barley making it to your second lap without passing out. Don't pass out .

2. Color.

Time to start collecting those lost crayons in your room and bring them on out. Coloring pages are a great way to relax; you can buy them at Target or you can just print them right from home! You can even color outside of the lines...what?! I know! It's okay, this will be our secret.

3.DIY Spa Day.

Go buy yourself a face mask, put on some of your comfiest clothes and lay down. Oh, and guys, don't be afraid to go and buy a face mask or some facial creams. You will not die, I promise. And you know what, go ahead and sip on a cold drink with a cool swirly straw while your at it. And in that case...do not lay down.

4. Watch a funny movie.

Everyone says that TV is bad for you, but it doesn't hurt to watch a funny movie! Although, try to stay away from watching any movies on Netflix, because then you'll be stuck there sitting down for a while. If this dog can do it, so can you.

Remember, you can't run away from your situations, but you can take steps to help you relax. Find what your hobbies and what truly makes you happy. Sometimes, we think about situations too much that we even begin to annoy others by stressing them out with our stressful blabber. Don't be that person. Breathe. We are all human, all go through sticky situations, we all fall, you are not alone on this cha-cha line, but you got this!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
