There are a million reasons to love Fall: the weather, Halloween, and the cozy sweaters, just to name a few. But there’s also tons of reasons to love D.C., our nation’s capitol. Here are some Fall events happening in D.C. that combine the two:

1. Fiesta D.C.

The annual festival that celebrates Latino culture is held during Hispanic Heritage month and aims to educate attendees as well as entertain with live performances from sponsors. The event includes a Parade of Nations that “displays and preserves the Native Latino cultural dance troupes as well as contemporary local groups from civic organizations, schools, and performers.”

When: Parade - Saturday, Sept 17th 2016 – 1:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Festival: Sunday, Sept 18th 2016 – 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Where: Parade - Constitution Avenue NW, between 7th and 14th street

Festival: Pennsylvania Avenue NW, between 3rd and 7th street

2. All Things Go Fall

D.C.’s annual music festival is featuring entertainers like Empire of the Sun and Passion Pit, along with food vendors such as Shake Shack and Buredo, is bound to be an exciting event for music lovers.

When: Saturday, Oct. 8th, 2016 - 11:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

3. Taste of D.C.

Calling all foodies! This multi-day food festival features over 70 of D.C.’s most popular and delicious restaurants, food trucks, and caterers, and includes a Beer Garden and a Wine Walk. Kids are also welcomed to enjoy the event at the Family Zone, which will keep them entertained with games and events. The festival will also be bringing live demonstrations from D.C.-based chefs and competitions like the Annual Ben's Chili Bowl's World Chili Eating Championship.

When: Saturday and Sunday, October 8-9th, 2016 - 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Where: Pennsylvania Avenue NW, between 9th St. and 14th St.

4. Ghosts of Georgetown Haunted Tour

In the spirit of Halloween, perhaps the best part of the Autumn season, this haunted tour shares “stories of curses, eerie coincidences, and of course a few haunted houses” with attendees. Georgetown is known for its historic streets and Victorian-style houses, which are bound to add to the mystery and thriller of the tours. People of all ages are welcomed to find out more about the scary side of Georgetown’s history.

When: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and and Saturdays - 8:00 p.m.

Where: Begins at 3051 M Street NW, near 30th and M St.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
