The Top 4 Netflix Shows Everyone Should Watch

Here are some Netflix staples you need to be able to say you've seen.

Everybody loves Netflix. The only downfall of Netflix is the indecisiveness of spending hours trying to find something to watch. Personally, my favorite shows end up being the ones that others have recommended to me, so I decided to put together a list of my own recommendations to help you out. I hope you enjoy the shows that I have watched and enjoyed. Here is a list of shows that you should check out:

1. "One Tree Hill"

It's old, but it's a classic. It's about a group of teenagers who come from different social groups and slowly become friends while facing the challenges of life. It's a show that will have you on your toes, make you sympathize with the characters so you hurt when they hurt, and end up one of your all-time favorite shows. As for me, I have rewatched this series at least three times.

2. "Young and Hungry"

A must-watch series that still airs on Freeform, this show is about the struggle of a young woman trying to make her dreams come true while dealing with the stress of being in love with her boss. It is a relatable show for college students who are also struggling to reach our dreams while finding ourselves in this big world. I am patiently waiting for season six to air, though there are rumors that it is getting canceled. Hopefully, we will get to see more of these lovable characters.

3. "Orange is the New Black"

Okay, okay. This series has taken me forever to start just because I didn't want to join the trend, but I caved and started it. This one is about a variety of different women in prison. Sounds boring, right? Boring is far from the truth. Yes, it contains some very inappropriate content, but if you see past it the story is actually really interesting—even though I'm more than positive that prison in real life isn't the same.

4. "Riverdale"

I have two words to describe this Netflix original: COLE SPROUSE. C'mon ladies, you cannot say he is not the cutest actor ever. We all know him from the show "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," but in "Riverdale," he plays an outcast from the other side of town who is friends with people on the rich side. Secrets emerge when a tragic incident occurs at the beginning of the show. If you haven't seen it yet, then I definitely recommend this show. Though there is only one season out right now, it is one show that I cannot wait to continue to watch this series.

Each series listed above is relatable in some way (okay, maybe not "Orange is the New Black"), and there is always a character that I can connect to. I hope at least someone will enjoy one of the series that I recommend as I am always looking for new shows.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
