4 Keys To Overcoming Stress

The real question is: What's making you stuck?

When dealing with stress, I think most of us tend to rush around the obstacle and try to get on with daily tasks. Instead, face that trouble head on! It's important for us as humans to really find our presence on Earth.

Require time for reflection and mindfulness.

The key is to seek happiness! What makes you happy? If there's hesitation to that question, think about adding time to be with people or activities you care about most! Incorporate time spent for wellness. Do what you love. We all need more connection, love, meaning, and appreciation in our lives! Studies have shown that four hugs per day can not only ease mental stimulation and keep you healthy, but also transfers uplifting energy! Take advantage of those free hugs!

Feeling overwhelmed?

This is life's way of telling us it's time to slow down! By focusing on what sincerely matters rather than rambling on with business, you can handle anything that comes your way. In today's society, I believe stress is pretty much unavoidable. But the deciphering moment is how often stress has a substantial influence over you. It's not the easiest thing in the world to stay calm at all moments of the day, but if we take a few short minutes to breathe and keep our minds open, it allows us to concentrate on our happiness!

There is always another day tomorrow to get things done.

When you spend too much time in your head reliving the past or daydreaming about the unknown, it's natural to become worried. By doing one thing at a time, you help yourself feel better and less stressed. No matter what the cause may be, reach out to your inner self and keep a mindful pace. It'll be easier to focus and do a higher quality job the right way! There will be less unnecessary conflicts, negativity and waste less of your and other people’s time. Prioritize what really matters to you!

Just breathe.

Release that stress! Calm your mind and body down and reconnect with the present moment again by fully focusing on your breathing. Breathe for two minutes and focus only on the energy you're breathing in and out. Sit or stand still and take in everything that is happening around you.

Although these may seem obvious, by managing your health, you can make a huge difference in your ability to handle stress. Be kind to yourself.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
