Every two years when either the summer or winter games happen, several thoughts pop into my head. Things like how they found the sport that they've dedicated their life too, what they've given up to become an elite athlete and so on... The olympics are not only entertaining but spectacular they have my glued to the television, for these 16 days, its unreal that these athletes are this good, what an accomplishment they must feel for representing their country. If they are able to win a medal, that is even more tremendous, they get to stand on the podium and represent the country they love.

1. How did they become an elite athlete?

When I'm sitting watching the olympics, I can't help but wonder when did they start this intense training and how did they know? Like for gymnasts did someone at the age of 7 tell them that they are good enough for the Olympic National team? It's mind-blowing to me how this all happens...

2. What did they give up to be where they are?

Can they eat Pizza logs, or chicken fingers, or are they on a strict diet? Did they have to miss their senior prom, or did they even get to participate in homecoming week? Did they get to hangout with their friends often? Did they have to move away from there home to train? And so many more thoughts pop up about the things they had to give up to live their dream...

3. How did they find the sport they are competing in?

Did they start playing because there parents did or was it something that they just started playing in the backyard and they began to love? Did they know from the start that they were good?

4. What is their daily workout?

Sometimes when I see them compete I wonder what they do on a daily basis that makes them this good... I think about it anyone trained that hard could they be there? Or is there something more to being an olympian are there parts of it that are genetic?

The olympic games are the most amazing time of the year, no matter the season, the athletes here must be genetically different. The way they train and take care of their body is like no other. Of course there are plenty of more thoughts that come through my head, probably every time I see a different athlete. Honestly, I wish I was one of them, we all probably say that, when we see them stranding on the top of the podium, with a gold medal around there neck, listening to their country's anthem being played inside the whole stadium is a feeling that everyone wants to experience however only a few can.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
