4 Things To Think About As Finals Draw Near
Steve Buissinne

It's near the end of the semester and nearly everyone is panicking because it's almost time for finals. Whether you're an arts major or engineering major, you're dreading that test that has a large effect on your final grade. Here are four things to think about as finals draw near.

1. Cramming won't help you remember everything.

I know we're told this a lot, but if you cram right before a test, chances are you won't remember important information you need for the final. Try to study at least 10 minutes for each subject a day so you can hopefully know what you understand and what you don't before you have the test in front of you.

2. You can't pass the final if you're asleep.

Most of us tend to stay up late studying for tests, but it's actually hurting your performance. You need to get some good rest so that you can function at a higher state when you're taking your finals. If you're just hyped up on coffee, it might wear off in the middle of a final and then you're doomed.

3. You still need to eat.

Something shown a lot of in college-themed media is students neglecting everything to study for finals. Just because you're stressed about the final doesn't mean you shouldn't eat. Just like in the last point, there's a chance of you passing out if you don't eat enough before taking they finals.

4. Stress relief is key.

I know not every college has therapy dogs around campus that are just for helping students deal with stress, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything that can help. Try to learn what relieves your stress and make sure to try and calm yourself down before your finals. That should help you get through them without panicing and forgeting everything.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
