Tis the Season to Be Thankful
Fa la la la la, la la la la..
The holidays are fast approaching and Thanksgiving has already come and gone, but that doesn't mean I'm not thankful anymore because the day about giving thanks has passed. Obviously I am thankful for many things throughout the year, but the holiday season is when I'm aware of certain things that make me thankful. So here's a few things I am thankful for in my life.
1. Family
As the saying goes, "can't live with them, can't live without them", and I feel this is relatable to so many people. I for one, am thankful to have such a loving family that is always there for me. They're always there when I need them which is comforting because my family is three hours away from me at the moment. Thanks mom for answering my 20 calls a day even when I have nothing to talk about, but just want to say "hi!" Honestly, without their support none of this would be possible. They sure know how to pick me up when I'm down. They know how to make me laugh too...aka when my sister Hannah likes to embarrass me on social media. Either way I could not do life without them.
2. Friends
I am thankful for my friends that are here with me in Waco and the ones back home and afar. They keep life interesting and always know how to calm me down when school gets the best of me. My friends are the best support system that anyone could have. They're always coming up with new ideas for us to check off our bucket lists that we didn't even know was on there; like, skydiving or a weekend trip to Los Angeles. The best people to jump out of a plane with are obviously your best friends because you'll know you're not the only scared one. They are motivating and always want me to succeed, and I wish the same for them. So thanks guys.
3. Work
I am blessed to be able to work at such a wonderful place. I have worked at many places throughout my teenage/college years, and each time I have been blessed by wonderful coworkers and bosses. It's a great feeling going into work excited for the day. Most people can't say that about their job and I feel bad for them because of it. My work environment is filled with great people that are always encouraging and investing in each others lives. We're not just co-workers, we're FAMILY.
4. School
Lastly, I am thankful for the opportunity to attend the best university in the world, Baylor University. Obviously I'm biased. All joking aside though I love my school, and am thankful for the last two years I've had here. With graduation in May of 2017, I will be sad when it comes time to leave but I'll look back on all the memories made here. Baylor felt like home to me back when I toured it in 2014 and it still feels that way in 2016. This place will always be home, and I will cherish my last few months on campus. It will hold a special place in my heart because it helped me grow into the person I am today.
Of all the things I am thankful for these are my top 4. What are you thankful for this holiday season?
