Throughout all of my life, I've been a serious mama's girl. Whenever she would leave to just run an errand without me as a little girl, I would bawl my eyes out and throw a huge fit. If she would cry, I'd cry. If she would smile, I'd smile. If I couldn't fall asleep at night, I would mosey out to the couch and she would let me lay with her until I fell asleep.

And now that I am in college, my mama isn't always there. I've had to learn to be on my own and to make my own choices without my mama there to tell me what to do. And sometimes, I regret these decisions. And she gets mad that I make the decisions I do. But she has taught me 4 key things throughout my life, that have made me the woman I am today. And I will never stop having that little feeling inside that screams "I need my mama."

1. If you dream it, you can achieve it

She has taught me to never stop working towards my goals. No wonder I was always your "me do it girl!" I learned from the best!

2. When times get tough, pray

Even though I never want to admit it, sometimes a good prayer knows how to make you feel better.

3. Stand tall, and always stay kind

You never know what someone is going through, so Mama H has always taught me to be kind and to be compassionate no matter what someone is going through!

4. Always stay true to yourself

Mama H did exactly that when she got this hunk for her birthday present! I still can't believe Aaron Rodgers showed up for her work birthday party!

I love you forever and ever, Mama H! Thanks for always being there for me throughout my whole life, and teaching me to be the best I can be.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
