I don't know about you but I tend to travel a lot with my family, especially down south. I love my road trips with my dad down south. Eating IHOP in the morning and getting Cracker Barrel for dinner, stopping a couple times in a states welcome center.

These are a few things that I absolutely think are much better in the Southern States than up North.

1. Golden Corral!!

Golden Corral is one of my only and favorite types of buffet restaurants. The environment of it down south is friendly because they have that Southern Hospitality.

It's cleaner! Yes sometimes there will be something that dirty, but up North there much dirtier.

The food is great! One of the only buffets that I like a lot of the food.

2. Cracker Barrel!!!!!

I absolutely love this restaurant so much that I asked for a giftcard to this place for Christmas. If you want good home-cooked meal, this is the place especially if your on the road and don't feel for fast food.

There roast beef is to die for with a side of fried okra and baby carrots or you can get their fried apples. So good and it comes hot!

The every restaurant of theirs has their own store that sell candy, clothes, home decor, etc. It gives you that old timey feel to it because of photos they have up as their decor. This place gives off a log cabin feel to it with a big fireplace in the middle of the restaurant.

3. Beaches

Down south their beaches are really nice! Some beaches up North are nice as well. Such as Rehobeth Beach, Delaware; Coney Island, New York City, New York. BUT down south is where the water is warm! The sand turns lighter the farther you go, especially in the Gulf of Mexico!

4. Southern Accents!

I love southern accents! The ones up North are pretty cool too, especially the New York and Boston accents but I happen to like the ones down south much more.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
