One hundred percent sweet. Zero percent sacrifice.

If you know me, you know I'm passionate about health and fitness. If you know me, you also know I have literally the WORST sweet tooth in the history of the world. Like ever. I'm not kidding.

Healthy eating is about longevity, it's about a maintainable lifestyle, and if you're constantly miserable and restricting yourself, your healthy habits aren't in it for the long haul. I could never give us sweets or sacrifice dessert, and I don't! I just make healthy and beneficial decisions when choosing what I'm going to munch on during my nightly dose of 'The Office' or 'This is Us'. It's all about balance! These are my go-to faves when it comes to the perfect sweet treat that won't hinder your goals.

1. Chocolate Hummus & Strawberries

Simple. Easy. Delish. I am hooked on HEB's chocolate hummus like my life depends on it. It's way cheap, way low on calories, and goes good with practically any fruit. I love to put it on bananas and raspberries as well, but strawberries have got to be my go to. What girl doesn't love chocolate covered strawberries?!

2. Chocolate or Caramel Rice Cakes

Rice! Cakes! I love rice cakes so so so much, and I think it's because they make me feel full even though they are so light on the tummy! I love eating the mini ones by themselves like popcorn or covering the big ones in peanut butter, banana slices, honey, or chocolate hummus. If I want something salty, a tomato basil rice cake with cheese is life! If there's a craving, there's a rice cake to solve it, I promise.

3. Protein Mug Cake

Have your cake and eat it too! All you need is:

One scoop of protein (my fave is pure protein), 1/4 c of the milk of your choice, 1/2 tsp. of baking soda, and 2 tbsp. of cocoa. If I want a hint of peanut butter I just do 1 tbsp. of cocoa and 1 tbsp. of PB2. Mix it all together in a mug and microwave for about a minute and top with whatever you want! A few chocolate chips, whipped cream, and Halo Top ice cream are all popular toppings in my kitchen.

4. Protein Brownie Batter

I saved the best for last. NO JOKE this stuff tastes like I'm at my grandma's house licking the spoon even though mom told me not to. In a mug or bowl mix 1 scoop of protein, 1 tbsp. of cocoa, 8g of sugar-free pudding mix (my fave is cheesecake), and 12g of PB2. Mix in milk as you stir until you have the consistency you desire. Some nights I want it super thick, other nights I want it creamier. This recipe will have you putting on muscle mass and licking your bowl clean.

A lot of people ask, sweets or abs? I say why not both?!?!

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate. It can be overwhelming at times and it’s important to take a step a back and calmly think things over. Maybe gain some perspective.
