4 Simple DIY Beauty Products You Need To Try Now

Ever since I discovered essential oils, my life has not been the same. Well, that is just a little dramatic, but seriously, essential oils = life.

When Pinterest-ing essential oil uses, I stumbled upon hundreds of all natural recipes from body scrubs to homemade soap. There were so many I had to try for myself. I made an amazing honey body scrub and knew immediately I would love anything else I made.

So here are four super easy, cost-efficient recipes I found that hopefully, you'll love too!

1. Coconut Lime Salt Scrub

I found this recipe from Coffee Cups and Crayons and it is literally heaven. I can't decide if it smells more like the beach or key lime pie, both of which are to die for.

I started by getting all my ingredients, which I purchased from Whole Foods but you can definitely find all of these things a little cheaper at your local grocery store.

For this recipe you need:

Fine Sea Salt

Course Sea Salt

Lime Essential Oil

Raw Coconut Oil

Some Kind of Container

Mix one cup of the fine sea salt with one cup of coconut oil. You can either leave it at that or mix half a cup of coarse sea salt as well. After mixing those ingredients, add 20 drops of lime oil. For me, this is the perfect amount but feel free to add more or less!

Spoon the solution into your container and decorate how you like! I gifted this to my mom as part of her birthday present but I also keep one for myself!

2. Homemade Lotion

Moisturizing is an absolute must for me but I hate harsh, super smelly lotions that I get from the store. I've tried vaseline products and even sensitive skin products but nothing soothes my skin and makes it feel as great as all natural coconut oil and a few little extras I add here and there.

That's why this homemade remedy is one of my favorites!! It is super light and easy on your skin. It isn't 100% all natural but it definitely works wonders. I found this recipe on One Good Thing.

For this recipe you'll need:

16 oz of Johnson's Baby Lotion (I love the pink kind)

8 oz of Solid Coconut Oil

8 oz of Vitamin E Cream (You can find it at CVS, promise!)

Kitchen Mixer

Take all three and put them in a large bowl and mix until it looks like a yummy pink icing (but don't eat, please). What I found when making this is to be careful how much coconut oil you put in because it could turn out super oily. Also, double check the labels on the products to make sure you have enough!

3. Homemade Peppermint Lip Balm

This super simple recipe is amazing. I knew how beneficial peppermint oil was to your body and these ingredients all together made the perfect lip balm that moisturizes for HOURS, which is super beneficial with cold weather right around the corner. I found this recipe on the cutest website called The Seasoned Mom.

For this recipe you will need:

5 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil

3 Tablespoons of Beeswax

12 Drops of Peppermint Essential Oil

Some Small Tin/Plastic Containers for the Product

Throw your beeswax and coconut oil into a pourable container in the microwave until it melts. Stir about every 30 seconds. Once these two ingredients are melted to a complete liquid, add the essential oil. Stir all of these together and then pour into your containers. I found my containers in a CVS travel bag and made about eight of them. You could also order some tins like on the original recipe on Amazon because you can get anything on Amazon, duh. Let dry and then you're all done!!

These are PERFECT small gifts. I keep one in my purse, makeup bag and car!

4. Honey Facial Mask and Scrub

Honey is one of my favorite ingredients in DIY projects. It's so thick and nourishing and just feels good when combined with sugar!

This recipe doubles as a mask and scrub. So to use it, apply the final product to your face, let sit, then when removing exfoliate your face by gently rubbing it off. I found this gem from Fireflies and Mud Pies.

For this recipe you'll need:

1 Cup of Raw Honey

3/4 Cup of Sugar

2 Teaspoons of Fractionated Coconut Oil

4 Drops of Frankincense Essential Oil

Some Kind of Container

This one is pretty straightforward: just mix it all together at once!!! After combining, I used a spoon to scoop it into my contain and WA-LA, get to scrubbing!

As a firm believer in essential oils and homemade remedies, I highly recommend trying these out and even exploring the websites I linked and literally any Pinterest page to find something more specific to your likes. Enjoy!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
