Complaining, jealousy and high expectations. These are all markers of a bad girlfriend, right? Wrong. If your girlfriend does these four "bad" things, then you may just have an amazing girlfriend.

She complains.

You know you’ve got a good girlfriend if she complains. There are two types of complaining: complaining to you or complaining about you. If your girlfriend complains to you, that’s great! It means she trusts you and talking to you about her problems makes her feel better. It means she’ll also be open to being your shoulder and listening to your problems, which is key in a good relationship. If your girlfriend is complaining about you, that can be good as well. Most people immediately think that having your significant other complain about you is negative, but it isn’t! If your girlfriend complains about you, it just means she knows that you can do better and she’s pushing you to be your absolute best. Her complaining, in either situation, is good for you and your relationship in the long run.

She makes you get off your phone, Xbox, Playstation, etc.

If your girlfriend gets upset and makes you stop playing on your phone or gaming device, then you’ve got a great girlfriend. This can mean several things. One possibility is simply that she misses you and wants your attention to be on her, which makes her a great partner. She may also make you get off of your devices if you have something more important to do. In this situation, she’s simply looking out for you and your best interest, which is also another marker of a good girlfriend.

She expects too much.

If your significant other expects too much, it’s probably just because she’s a good girlfriend. It just means that she knows that you can do better. This can seem very negative, but it’s actually a compliment. If your girlfriend thought you were as good as you were ever going to be, she wouldn’t expect more. But she does, which means she’s helping you grow and better yourself. She sees potential in you that you don’t see in yourself, which is most definitely a sign of a good girlfriend.

She gets super jealous.

Jealousy tends to carry a negative connotation, but it’s actually very endearing. Your girlfriend thinks you’re amazing and really cares about you. She sees all of your amazing attributes and probably thinks it would be easy for other girls to fall for you, too. But since she cares about you, she doesn’t want to loose you. If you’ve got a jealous girlfriend, then you’ve got a great girlfriend that cares about you and your relationship. If your girlfriend wasn’t jealous and didn’t care about losing you to someone else, then you’d have something to worry about. A lack of jealousy can actually be a marker of a bad girlfriend.

If your girlfriend does these four things, then you probably have an amazing "bad" girlfriend.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
