Have you ever wondered what it is like to step into the world of a tap dancer? Have you never been able to see what it is like if someone is thinking what you are thinking about being a tap dancer? Life as a tap dancer can be difficult depending on what kind of tap you are doing. Here’s a little “tap” into being a tap dancer.

1.You are constantly tapping in any shoe you wear.

Being a tap dancer, you create rhythm with your feet. Whenever I’m in class or in a store or my room, I’m always creating sounds with my feet. Sometimes it’s movements I have already learned or I am just improving. Once you’re a tap dancer, you can never stop moving your feet.

2. You compare tap shoes online to find the best ones.

Tap shoes are so diverse. They can be flexible and hard to move in for some or they can have a wood bottom and easier to move in than others. Every time you need new shoes, you have to look for the best kind. The ones that will best fit you and your feet. Having the wrong kind of tap shoe and trying to dance in them is the hardest thing a tap dancer can do to themselves.

3. Hearing a song and tapping along in your head.

A really good song comes on that has a very upbeat vibe to it and you start jamming out. People that have the capability to train in tap dancing can hear the sounds of their feet moving along to the music and are able to either improv or choreograph to the exact same song that you heard. It may seem weird to others at first, but it’s totally normal.

4. Afraid of slipping and falling on the tile floor.

Tap shoes are super slippery on almost any kind of floor. Since they have metal on the bottom of them, it makes it harder to walk around normally on tile flooring. One misstep and you are going down to the ground. You have to seriously be very careful when walking in tap shoes. One minute you’re completely fine and the next you could be seriously hurt.

There are so many more ways to know if you are a tap dancer, but sometimes you just need four signs that really stick out the most! The same is with ballet dancers, jazz dancers, lyrical dancers, and so much more! Tapping is my life and probably the life of SO MANY OTHERS and I would not be able to live with out those sounds in my life! I hope you find the tap in your life that keeps your feet moving and staying happy to your own rhythm!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
