I’m sure you’ve heard of it! You know, Pokémon Go, the new interactive app that has got everybody across the globe in a Pokémon-catching frenzy. The app was released on July 7th, 2016 by Nintendo, allowing gamers and fans of all ages to download the game onto their portable devices from Playstore. As of today, the app holds more interest than Facebook, Twitter, and even Tinder. What’s so appealing about it you ask? Pokémon Go allows you to explore the streets of your own hometown in search of Pokémon, cute little virtual monsters that you can evolve and battle in gyms, which are also located throughout your community. Why should you be playing it?
Reason Number 1
If you’re a fan of the original Pokémon games, starring Blue and Red, then you’ll be pleased to know not much has changed. The game’s introduction includes Professor Willow familiarizing you to the world of Pokémon. After you have customized your avatar, your character is then given the Pokedex, several pokeballs, and then you are left to your own devices to choose which Pokémon will be your first catch out of three starter Pokémon. True to the original game, the three starter Pokémon are no other than Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur. After selecting your starter Pokémon you can then walk around the block on the lookout for wild Pokémon. Thanks to the games use of GPS this allows many players to feel like they are actually participating in capturing these creatures much like their favorite childhood game characters. Need further convincing?
Reason Number 2
If you’re like me, and happened to grow up watching Ash, Misty, and Brock catch all sorts of adorable Pokémon then you’ll be pleased to know that the game is filled with just as many fan favorite Pokémon. Some of these pokemon include Caterpie, Weedle, Pidgey, Rattata, Spearow, Ekans, Sandshrew, Eevee, Jigglypuff, and many more including Pikachu himself and all of their evolved counterparts. You can also catch special rare Pokémon with incents, and hatch eggs and upgrade to better pokeballs the higher your level. You can evolve your Pokémon by feeding them candies.
Reason Number 3
Another reason you should invest in downloading the game is because it’s great at bringing people together. You can team up with friends as well as make new associates in your search at catching them all and earning badges. A cool option the game gives you is the choice of selecting which group you would like to be in. You have a choice between team Valor, Mystic, and Instinct.
Reason Number 4
Lastly, if you aren’t completely persuaded yet have I mentioned the game is tremendously great for your health? Yup, that’s right there now is such a thing as having fun and shedding a few calories. In order to find all of these Pokémon and to hatch eggs you’ve literally got to walk miles. Not only are you outside and off the couch, socializing with real life people, but you’re doing your body a favor. What isn’t to love about that? Just be mindful of your limits! Bring water, take breaks, be observant, travel in groups, and don’t Pokemon Go and drive! Good luck at catching them all!
