I recently began journaling, thanks to a suggestion from my friend, and it is the best thing I could have done. I try to journal at least every Sunday, but I know people who journal everyday. I always thought that journaling was weird and too much work, but after starting I don't know what I did without it. Now, I tell everyone that they must journal.
1. A lot happens during the week
Journaling is a great way to remember everything that happened during the week. A lot happens, and its helpful to have a quick overview of the week. And, you know its good to always have receipts in an argument.
2. It helps sort out all of your feels
Again, a lot happens in a week. One day could be the best day and the next is the worst day. Journaling is a way to describe each day and all the events that take place. I find that this helps me figure out why I felt so crappy one day or why a comment that someone said bothered me so much.
3. Keep all of your thoughts straight
Journaling is a great way to write down everything that you could be thinking. My journals are no written masterpiece, rather it's just a string of random thoughts.
4. A great way to reminisce
I love looking back and seeing all the good memories that I create. While in the moment, the week I am journaling about may not seem so great, once you look back you notice the small positive things that make you smile.
